Symposium Offered on Grants & Taxes03.09.2005
Do you have questions about grants or taxes for your non-profit? Answers will be available at an exciting new event hosted by Arts Alliance Mountain Empire (AAME) and A! Magazine for the Arts.
Grants & Taxes: A Symposium for Arts Related Non-Profits will be held Saturday, May 7 from 1-3 p.m. at the Bristol Public Library's temporary location on Euclid Avenue, across from Food City Shopping Center. Bill Hartley, board president of the AAME and executive director of the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance, will discuss grant resources and grant writing for arts organizations. Don Cooper, an attorney and an AAME board member, will discuss tax issues related to non-profits.
Deadline: Send us your questions by April 30 so our experts may have time to research issues. Pre-registration is also encouraged, as space is limited. But first, we need your questions!

(2) Or mail to: AAME Tax & Grants Questions, P.O. Box 94, Bristol, TN 37621

Who will benefit from the Symposium? If your organization is preparing fall returns for the July to June fiscal year, or if you're researching grant opportunities and aren?t sure how to get started, find inspiration during this program. This is also the perfect place to meet members of other arts organizations who share the same issues.
Is there an admission fee? If you are already an AAME member, the program is free. If you are not a member, admission is $40 per person at the door. An individual one-year AAME membership is $25. New memberships must be purchased by April 30 in order to attend the event for free. Group memberships available.
This symposium is just one of many events that AAME is planning as a way of lending support to arts organizations in our region. It is the goal of the Arts Alliance Mountain Empire and A! Magazine for the Arts to bring strong, like-minded arts organizations together so we may all benefit from our collective knowledge. By becoming a member of AAME, you become part of a large network of people who are sharing ideas and strengthening the arts in our communities. As an AAME member, you also will gain access to other events.
