Appalachian Express Chorus: The Spirit of Giving12.30.2005
In December, the Appalachian Express Chorus held their annual Christmas Show. This year the show was at the Kingsport Renaissance Cente, preceded by a Pratt's Barbeque dinner. The Chorus performed their four-part a cappella harmony to a nearly sold-out audience, an exceptional way to end a wonderful year.
The Appalachian Express Chorus is a local non-profit organization that not only serves as a wonderful source of entertainment, but through events like their Christmas Show they are able to give back a part of themselves to the local community. Each year the Chorus takes a portion of their proceeds and generously contributes to one of this area's charitable organizations. This gift will be used to help furnish scholarships for children in need of the services provided at the Mountain Region Speech & Hearing Center.
The Appalachian Express Chorus would like to express a huge "Thank You" to all of those who had a helping hand in making this time of giving possible.
The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, now more commonly known as the Barbershop Harmony Society, is comprised of 16 districts across America.
