The deadline for application submission is Aug. 1, 2005 with projects beginning Oct. 1, 2005. Applicants can apply for up to $8,000 in FY 2006 for support of a project that promotes local cultural resources by creating an arts and heritage inventory and/or developing innovative marketing strategies to promote cultural tourism. Successful proposals will highlight unique local or regional cultural heritage resources and produce some kind of public information outlet, such as a cultural trail guide, Web site, directory, program, interpretive kiosk, or exhibits.
Prior to beginning the application process, applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss their proposal with Leigh Green, the Commission's director of community arts development, at (615) 532-9796 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
