Literacy Awareness Month Presentation09.13.2005
You are invited to join the Regional Reading Coalition for a special Literacy Awareness Month community presentation. National reading expert Richard Allington, Ph.D. will speak on "Creating a Literacy Legacy — Where All Children Are Readers" from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005 at Pridemore Theater, Dobyns-Bennett High School, Kingsport, TN.
Dr. Allington is president of the International Reading Association and serves on editorial boards for numerous publications in the education field. He is Professor of Education at the University of Tennessee and previously served as Distinguished Professor of Education at the University of Florida as well as Chair of the Department of Reading at the University of Albany-SUNY. He is the author of over 100 research articles and several well-known books that address children's reading instruction and learning disabilities.
