Southwest Virginia Museum Announces 2012 Festival of Trees Winners

BIG STONE GAP,VA - The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park congratulates the winners of the 17th Annual Festival of Trees. Winners were selected based on votes received from Festival of Trees attendees from Nov. 11 to Dec. 30, 2012.

Winners

First Place: "The Joy of Pepsi" - Pepsi Bottling Company of Norton, Va.
Second Place: "The Most Wonderful Christmas Gift Ever, Jesus!" - East Park Avenue Baptist Church Women on Mission of Norton, Va.
Third Place: "A Patriotic Tribute" - LifeCare Ambulance Service of Wise, Va.
Fourth Place: "Sugarland" - Nina Wells & The Boggs Sisters of Big Stone Gap, Va.
Fifth Place: "Tree of Many Colors" - Addilynn Memorial United Methodist Church of Bristol, Tenn.
Sixth Place: "Bread of Life" - New Hope Assembly of God of Big Stone Gap, Va.
Seventh Place: "A Confederate Christmas" - Sons of Confederate Veterans of Norton & Wise County, Va.
Eighth Place: "Cancer Awareness" - Family Drug of Big Stone Gap, Va.
Ninth Place: "Animals of 2012" – P.A.W.S. of Southwest Virginia, Inc.
10th Place: "Our Heroes Don't Wear Capes" - Big Stone Gap Fire Department

Volunteers around the Southwest Virginia region decorated holiday trees, mantels, doorways and banisters throughout the Southwest Virginia Museum, sharing their talents and holiday spirit with all who visited the site. This year, 80 trees showcased the community's creativity, creating a truly beautiful collection of displays.
