Barter Theatreannounced that patrons will no longer be required to wear masks while attending shows at its Gilliam Stage venue.
Producing Artistic Director, Katy Brown, said, “Throughout the pandemic, it has always been our priority to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, and community. In concert with local officials and recognizing nationwide trends, we believe now is the time to remove the mask requirement in our largest venue, Gilliam Stage.”
This impacts Barter’s upcoming summer performances of Dolly Parton’s "9 to 5: The Musical"as well as its gal-pal comedy, "Always a Bridesmaid," both running through the end of August.Barter Theatre will continue to offer Enhanced Protocol Performances so that all patrons may attend a production at their preferred level of precaution. In addition, Barter Theatre will continue requiring patrons attending performances at Smith Theatre, its smaller, more intimate venue, to wear masks due to the audience’s proximity to the stage.
