BRISTOL, TN-VA -- On April 10, Believe in Bristol and the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance officially unveiled a new Kiosk on-site at Bristol's Downtown Center at the Country Music Mural.
Last year, Believe in Bristol raised $8,500 during the fall Food City Family Race Night in Downtown Bristol. Believe in Bristol elected to reinvest the money in downtown by offering something that would be useful to visitors and residents alike. This is when the concept of a kiosk was born.
The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance and Bristol's Convention and Visitors Bureau joined forces with Believe in Bristol to help sponsor the kiosk. The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance received a grant through the Tennessee Arts Commission, making up the difference in the cost of the Kiosk--which estimates at around $14,000 total. The kiosk will reside in the Downtown Center at the Country Music Mural and will feature useful tips for visitors.
Among the information featured: a downtown merchant directory, info about Bristol as the Birthplace of Country Music, seasonal events such as Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion and the Farmer's Market and a bulletin board. The City of Bristol, Tennessee has donated their services for the installation.
Believe in Bristol is a non-profit organization composed of dedicated citizens, business owners, government officials and other friends of Bristol who recognize the role a vital downtown plays in preserving and furthering our community's identity, spirit and economy.
By donating to, volunteering with and/or becoming involved in Believe in Bristol, you can become an active part of Bristol's ongoing success story. Thanks to the participation of our citizens, Downtown Bristol has been, and will continue to be, a source of pride and delight for the people of Tennessee and Virginia-because we BELIEVE IN BRISTOL!
