BJ Goliday started Black Tie Extravaganza in 2021 to expand the cultural opportunities available in the region.
The extravaganza is held at the Meadowview Convention Center, Kingsport, Tennessee, Oct. 19 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. The event includes dinner from 7-8 p.m., performances from 8-9 p.m. and a dance party from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. A cash bar is available. The event is for 18 and older. Tickets are $70 at the door for audience seating ($60 in advance) and $100 per person for VIP table seating which includes dinner and dessert.
Performers at the event include professional Argentine tango dancers Roxana Marinoff and Cesar Davalos, professional Latin dancers Waldo y Jacqui, professional Latin dancers David and Terri, professional Latin dancers Allen and Niya, professional Samba dancer Ingridge Banzo, world champions Selena Tornez and Hunter Houde, world champions Emily and Raul, and world Argentine tango champions Jesus and Jael.
The following day beginning at 10 a.m. seven dance workshops are held.
Waldo y Jacqui, professional Latin dancers, teach Salsa on 1 Partner and Footwork. World champion Argentine tango dancers Jesus Aranguren and Jael Montilla teach Argentine tango. Professional Latin Dancers David and Terri teach Bachata Dips and Tricks. Professional Argentine tango dancers Roxana Marinoff and Cesar Davalos teach Argentine tango combos. Professional samba dancer Ingrid Banzo teaches samba footwork. Professional Latin dancers Allen and Niya teaches Salsa on 2. World champions Selena Tornez and Hunter Houde teach Latin hustle.
