Bristol Ballet Celebrates Bristol Chamber's 100th Anniversary

May 28, 2009

BRISTOL, Va. -- Bristol Ballet participated in the Bristol Chamber of Commerce's 100th Anniversary Celebration on May 15, 2009.

The Chamber celebrated with an elegant dinner at one of Bristol's historic landmarks, the recently restored Union Depot. Bristol Ballet dancers lined the front entrance of the train station, dressed in flowing white classical Romantic tutus, posing like elegant statues for the attendees arriving for the reception.

Many of those attending stopped to view the lovely sight, commenting on the dancers' beauty and ability to stand for such long periods of time without moving. A few even had their pictures taken with the dancers.

Prior to the dinner, two Bristol Ballet dancers each performed a short solo as part of the entertainment. Although it was a different challenge for the dancers to stand for long periods of time and perform on a stage that was only 8' x 12', they were pleased with the reception they received and proud to have been part of such a historic event.
