Big Stone Gap, VA.The artisans committee of the 2022 Gathering in the Gap Music Festival invites regional artisans to create, display and sell their works at the annual festival Saturday, May 28. Artisans are selected for high quality and outstanding work for the mutual benefit of all participants. The festival features Grand Ole Opry Inductee Crystal Gayle along with Dave Eggar, a well-known cellist, pianist and composer. The festival is located in and around the historic grounds of the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, and vendor space is limited.
All items for sale must fit such categories as country, primitive, rustic, shabby chic, vintage and traditional & contemporary folk art. Items should include mediums such as textiles, handcrafted furniture, metalworking, original art, pottery, gourmet foods, basket making, instrument making, stained glass, jewelry making, soap making, etc. Artisans agree to sell complete, finished and ready to use products. No unfinished wood kits or patterns, silk flowers or general items made from craft kits will be considered.
Additionally, antique vendors and dealers are invited to display and sell their wares at the event. Items from all historical periods are encouraged. For an application, email Tyler Hughes attyler.hughes@dcr.virginia.gov.
