BRISTOL, Va. – WBCM Radio Bristol celebrated a revival of the classic live radio program Farm and Fun Time during Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum.
Farm and Fun Time originally aired on Bristol's WCYB radio in the 1940s, "50s, and "60s. Many of country music's biggest stars regularly performed on the original program including The Stanley Brothers, Flatt & Scruggs, Jim & Jesse, and more. The Birthplace of Country Music first revived Farm and Fun Time during the Grand Opening of the museum in August 2014 with appearances by Dr. Ralph Stanley and Jesse McReynolds, among others.
"Radio Bristol is an extension of the festival and our mission at the Birthplace of Country Music. It's also something festival goers can take home with them and listen to anytime online and through our app. Farm & Fun Time is an exciting part of our radio programming." said Tony Lawson, WBCM station manager.
The second edition of Farm and Fun Time was hosted by Red Knuckles and the Trail Blazers, with appearances by Hot Rize, Jim Lauderdale, and The Hello Strangers. The show was broadcast before a live audience on WBCM - LP at 100.1 FM and online at www.BirthplaceofCountryMusic.org.
