NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Arts Commission's Folklife Program has announced the availability of the newly-updated and revised Handbook for Tennessee Folk Artists online.
The handbook was first published in 1989, with a revised edition published in 1997. Recently the Commission published the third edition, containing updated information targeted toward the state's talented folk artists.
The third edition is now available in print form, but there was also a strong demand to have it placed online. The online version is full-color and is fully interactive, with many links and resources.
"There is clearly a need for the kind of basic information the Handbook contains," says Dr. Robert Cogswell, director of the Commission's Folklife Program. "The idea is to create a more even playing field for all participants in the arts, regardless of their cultural background."
