Once upon a time Blue Moon's artistic directors Ed and Moira Breese were "starving artists" from New York. They were employed actors but they wanted more. They moved to Northeast Tennessee and started the Blue Moon in 2008 as a way to manage their two passions - theatre and family.

They say they are also passionate about the revival of downtown Johnson City: "The arts community here is a strong one and we are excited to be a part of it. There are so many exciting businesses and new ones opening up every day."

Blue Moon recently presented Barefoot in the Park and The Foreigner. Previous productions have included Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Murder at the Howard Johnson, Noises Off, Steel Magnolias, Fishin' For Trouble, Wait Until Dark, Trouble at the Tropicabana and Sorry! Wrong Chimney!
