Dragonfly Book Bar presents “An Afternoon with Barbara Kingsolver” at the Cameo Theatre, Bristol, Virginia, Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m.
Kingsolver discusses and reads from her new novel, “Partita,” and takes questions from the audience — for a lively conversation with her hometown and regional audience.
“We are thrilled to host Barbara Kingsolver for the only local release event of ‘Partita,’” says René Rodgers, co-owner of the bookstore. “Attendees will have the opportunity to gain deeper insights into the book and Kingsolver’s creative process. We are so appreciative to Barbara and Harper Collins for partnering with us on this event and giving folks in our region the chance to connect with her and the book in a meaningful way.”
Two ticket tiers are available: $45 includes a hardcover copy of the book and entry to the event; $25 includes entry to the event. Partial proceeds benefit Higher Ground Women’s Recovery Residence in Lee County, Virginia, which was established by Kingsolver with royalties from “Demon Copperhead.” Tickets are available through the Theatre Bristol website.
Please note that copies of “Partita” will not be signed, and this event does not include an author signing of any other books or memorabilia nor a photo line.
