Knoxville Opera recently announced its upcoming schedule.
The upcoming season features three major productions in three different venues:
1. "Glory Denied" btTom Cipullo (Knoxville Premiere, in partnership with the Medal of Honor Celebration) Sept 9 & 11, at Alumni Memorial, Cox Auditorium
2. "The Merry Widow" byFranz Lehar (Collaboration with UT Opera Theater) Nov 4 & 6, at the Tennessee Theatre
3. "Le Nozze di Figaro" byWolfgang Amadeus Mozart April 28 & 30at the Bijou Theatre
In addition, Knoxville Operacontinues its Knox Opera for All activities, which include free public performances throughout the community. Among these offerings are the Neighborhood Choir after-school program, Knoxville Opera Goes to Church, and a digitally-produced opera written for young audiences.
The Rossini Festival Int’l Street Fair will also be making its return in the Spring of 2023 following record-breaking attendance in 2022.
