Milligan Students Finalists in National Photography Competition

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN -- Eight Milligan College students placed as finalists in the Photographer's Forum 27th Annual College Photography Contest. The top five percent of entries were selected from more than 28,000 entries nationally.

Milligan student finalists are:
- junior Bailey Carter of Avon, Ind.;
- senior Sharayah Cochran of Oakwood, Va.;
- junior Erika Fox of Gambrills, Md.;
- junior Andy Frost of Johnson City, Tenn.;
- senior Melissa Gilleland of Stony Point, N.C.;
- senior Emily Hand of Anna, Ohio;
- Suzanne Richardson of Abingdon, Va.;
- junior Kayla Metcalf of Greeneville, Tenn.
Metcalf also was presented with an Honorable Mention Award, a prestigious recognition among the finalists.

The students are all enrolled in photography courses at Milligan as part of the college's fine arts program, which offers courses in art, music, photography and theatre arts.

The Photographer's Forum Magazine sponsors two photography contests each year, one for the general public and one for high school and college students.

The finalists' work will be published in the 2007 edition of the Best of College Photography Annual, which is scheduled to be published in mid-June.
