Mistletoe Market celebrates 20th anniversary

Mistletoe Market celebrates its 20th anniversary. This annual event is held Nov. 2 - 4 at Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, Abingdon, Virginia.

The market opens with the Mistletoe Mingle Thursday, Nov. 1 from 6-9 p.m. This special preview shopping experience kicks off the weekend long festivities. The Mistletoe Mingle includes auction items, fine wine and a tasting of offerings from some of the area’s finest chefs and caterers which include Heartwood: Local Craft, Music, and Food in Southwest Virginia, Milton’s, Food City, Catering by Catherine, Nancy’s Fancy’s Cakes & Catering and Candyland. Santa makes a stop at Mistletoe Market Saturday, Nov. 3 from 4-7 p.m. to add names to his list. Children have the opportunity to share their Christmas wishes. There will be gifts for the youngsters and craft making opportunities. There is free admission to the market for children 12 and younger during Santa’s visit.

Highlights of the market include $500 in shopping spree opportunities, Mistletoe Market Cafe, and daily door prizes. Over 80 merchants from 15 states bring a variety of items including gifts for the gardener in your family, jewelry, holiday decor, clothing and antiques. In addition to the cafe there are gourmet food vendors with fantastic holiday treats and food trucks. This year the market has more than 20 new vendors adding to the variety and uniqueness of this holiday shopping experience.

Mistletoe Market in Abingdon, Virginia, is located at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, Interstate 81 at Exit 14. Daily admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children (ages 6-12). Market hours are Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11a.m. to 5 p.m.
