BRISTOL, TN - The days are getting shorter, but the nights are getting brighter as Paramount Bristol kicks off its star-studded fall season.
>> Oct. 4: Chicks With Hits: Terri Clark, Pam Tillis and Suzy Bogguss perform at 8 p.m. This is a rare opportunity to see three of the biggest female artists in country music playing your favorite songs from their legendary careers. This show is packed with stories, girl power, harmonies, laughs and of course hits. $57-$82.
>> Oct. 5: The Black Jacket Symphony: AC/DC’s Back in Black takes the stage at 8 p.m. The performance recreates AC/DC’s legendary album featuring rock ‘n’ ragers like “What Do You Do For Money Honey,†“You Shook Me All Night Long†and the title track. $33
>> Oct. 6: Susan G. Komen of East Tennessee and Highlands Ballet Present “Turnout for the Cure†at 7:30 p.m. This gala fundraiser and performance supports breast cancer education and outreach. Admission includes deserts and drinks, auction packages and a sneak preview of a new ballet called “Magic Butterfly.†$50
>> Oct. 28: The Music of Cream - 50th Anniversary Tour rekindles the spirit of psychedelic rock pioneers Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton in a spectacular multimedia concert. $37
>> Nov. 3: Christian pop/rock band Sidewalk Prophets bring their immersive brand of ministry to the Paramount. $10-$60.
>> Nov. 4: Evening with John Anderson: Acoustic is on stage at 7 p.m. Singer-songwriter Anderson has one of the most instantly recognizable voices in the history of country music. Anderson is the standard-bearer for traditional country music of the 100 Proof variety. “Gospel-born and southern bred†Elvie Shane, opens the show. $37-$57.
>> Nov. 19: Music legends Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen perform together onstage. These events are filling much larger venues across the country. Seeing them in the Paramount’s intimate 749-seat room in the heart of historic downtown Bristol is an experience. $87-$127
>> Nov. 23: Steve Earle & the Dukes mark The 30th anniversary of “Copperhead Road,†the world’s first blend of heavy metal and bluegrass. $27-$67
>> Dec. 1: Byrds co-founders Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman team up with Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives to salute The 50th Anniversary of “Sweetheart of the Rodeo,†considered by many to be the greatest country-rock album of all time. $82-$127
>> Dec. 15: Corey Smith returns to Paramount Bristol with his full band at 8 p.m. Smith has built a devout fan base, all around the nation, by telling it the way it is. His concerts regularly sell out, with fans singing along to favorites like the coming-of-age anthem “Twenty-One,†the nostalgic time warp “If I Could Do It Again†and the group hug “I Love Everyone.†$27-$32.
