Symphony of the Mountains celebrates a season of extraordinary milestones during its 17th Annual Gala, “Saluting Our Legacy,” Saturday, Sept. 19 at The Virginian in Bristol, Virginia.
This year’s gala honors three significant anniversaries: America’s 250th, Symphony of the Mountains’ 80th and Maestro Cornelia Laemmli Orth’s 20th with the orchestra. The evening brings together supporters, patrons and friends of the symphony to celebrate a rich legacy of music while looking ahead to its future in the region.
Guests enjoy an evening of musical and epicurean delights beginning at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction. At 7 p.m., the celebration continues with a five-course dinner, live auction, musical entertainment and dancing.
For eight decades, Symphony of the Mountains has entertained, educated and enriched communities throughout Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and the surrounding Appalachian region through live performances, educational programs and community engagement. The gala provides an opportunity to recognize the people and partnerships that have helped sustain that mission across generations.
The evening also recognizes Maestro Cornelia Laemmli Orth’s 20 years of artistic leadership with Symphony of the Mountains. During her tenure, the orchestra has continued to expand its artistic reach and strengthen its connection with audiences throughout the region.
