Abingdon Main Street Alliance has revitalized First Fridays through downtown Abingdon.
Events are scheduled from 5-8 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. Celebrations run through the downtown area and include parts of Pecan and Park streets and Plumb Alley.
The theme of the June celebration is “Garden Party.” Each month has a special theme. July’s theme is “Americana Independence Day;” August’s is “Summer Lovin’;” September’s is “Stomp and Holler.” “Haunted Abingdon” is the October theme. November’s is “Harvest Festival” and December’s is “Twelve Days of Christmas.”
Downtown businesses stay open late and offer specials, sales and activities. Pop-up events showcase local and regional artworks. Musicians perform at various locations throughout the town.
Participating businesses include Barter Theatre, Blue Hills Market, Crafts on Main, Della Dea Photography Studio, Fragmented, Forestra, Forget Me Not, Gather Inn, The Girl and The Raven, Katbirds, Market on Main, Shady Business, Spot of Color, William King Museum of Art, Willow Tree Wellness and Wolf Hill Coffee.
