Tennessee Sampler Survey Launches Web Site

June 16, 2009

NASHVILLE, TN -- The Tennessee Sampler Survey has launched a new Web site, complete with an online gallery of Tennessee samplers.

The Web site was designed by Justin Bird and funded with grants from the Tennessee Arts Commisison and the Loudon (VA) Sampler Guild.

The Tennessee Sampler Survey was founded as a not-for-profit organization in 2004, with the mission to document and preserve Tennessee's needlework heritage. The organization's research includes documenting Tennessee samplers made prior to 1900. As of May 2009, they have located 210 samplers, 153 of which can be proven as Tennessean.
