The Paramount Chamber Players open their 19th concert season with an intimate performance featuring two masterworks for piano quartet. Frank Bridge’s “Phantasy Quartet in F-Sharp Minor” sweeps you away to the English countryside with its dreamy melodies and elegant lyricism. It is followed by one of the most iconic works of the chamber repertoire, Johannes Brahms’ Piano Quartet No. 1 in G Minor, a dramatic and heroic musical journey.
The concert features violinist Evie Chen, violist David Kovác, cellist Max Geissler and pianist Katherine Benson.
The concert is performed at three venues. The first is held Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m., at Kingsport First Presbyterian Church, Kingsport, Tenn. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, students admitted free. Oct. 21, the concert is at 7:30 p.m., at the East Tennessee State University Martin Center for the Arts, Johnson City, Tennessee. The Oct. 22 concert is held in the Keyser-Aday Theater at Virginia Highlands Community College, Abingdon, Va., at 3 p.m. The Oct. 22 concert is free.
