Symphony of the Mountains
The 2014-15 season of Symphony of the Mountains has included "Sax and the
Symphony" an opera, "Die Fledermaus," "Bach to the Future," featuring the Voices of the
Mountains and several small concerts.
Yet to come in the season are the Christmas concerts , a concert with The Krüger Brothers in February, "From Sadness to Hope" in March and a concert featuring the Chamber Ensemble at Allandale Mansion in June.
The Krüger Brothers join the symphony Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m., in the Toy F. Reid auditorium, Eastman Employee Center, Kingsport, Tenn., to perform "Music from the Spring."
The ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band opens the concert.
On March 28, the symphony, joined by the East Tennessee State University chorale, women's choir and the Buc's men's choir, perform "From Sadness to Hope" at the Paramount Center for the Arts, Bristol, Tenn. The concert features Mozart's "Requiem," Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 and "Concerto Grosso" by Zwilich.
The Youth Orchestra performs its spring concert April 19, at 3 p.m., in Seeger Chapel on the campus of Milligan College, Milligan College, Tenn. The Chamber Ensemble performs at the University of Virginia at Wise, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m., and at Emory & Henry College, March 29, at 3 p.m. For a complete schedule and details, visit www. symphonyofthemountains.org.
