'The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition' Registration Now Open

Through nautical nonsense, actors ages 9-18 bring to life SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Plankton, Mrs. Puff, Gary and more in the "The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition," featuring original music byDavid Bowie, Brian Eno, Yolanda Adams,Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco,Sara Bareilles,They Might Be Giants,Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith,Plain White T’s,Jonathan Coulton, and many more. In this show that gained 12 Tony nominations, participants who already love, or want tolearn to, sing, dance and act, performon stage in three October performances at the Cameo Theatre.Registration is open and rehearsals begin Aug.3 with details and registration link available online atwww.TheatreBristol.org/TBarts.

Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show. When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home,SpongeBoband his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world.

The Theatre Bristol Youth Academy is a semester-long course with a focus on practical application of theatertechnique in a fun and educational environment, culminating in well-prepared actors performing in school and public shows. Students ages 9-18, regardless of theaterexperience, are encouraged to register. Rehearsals take place at Theatre Bristol at 512 State Street, Bristol, Tennessee, and performances are held at Cameo Theatre at 703 State Street, Bristol, Virginia.

Two academy sessions options are being offered this fall. Students may sign up for a single session or both sessions and turn the class into a daily weekday after school program that runs Aug.3 through Oct. 4. Squid cast rehearses Monday, Wednesday, Fridayand Crab cast rehearses Tuesday, Thursday, Fridayand Squid and Crab cast performances Oct.3 and 4.

Tuition for this three-day-a-week, more than two-month theater workshop per session is only $320 plus fees of $11.70, and there is a discount available if registering for both sessions.An early daily after school drop-off add-on is also available and includes additional stagecraft skill development.Register atTheatreBristol.org/tbarts. Teaching and directing the underwater musical adventure is Theatre Bristol veteran director, Camille Gray, with assistance from veteran director Peggy Russell and Theatre Bristol staff, volunteers, and board members.
