Theatre Bristol class registration is open

Registration is open for theTheatre Bristol Catherine DeCaterina School of Theatre Arts fall classes held at Theatre Bristol, 512 State Street, Bristol, Tennessee, September through October.The Catherine DeCaterina School of Theatre Arts is open to all ages and experience levels seeking to improve their theaterskills, build confidenceand prepare for upcoming productions.Participants also have fun and make friends who enjoy the dramatic arts. TheSchool of Theatre Arts fall session registration is available online atwww.TheatreBristol.org/tbarts.

Classes include.

  • Creative Dramatics is designed for 5-7-year-olds to spark a love for being onstage. Topics include theatergames, improv, practicing being something you’re not, audition practice, and more. Classes are heldMondays from 5-6 p.m., Sept. 9 through Oct. 28.
  • Dramatics 1 is for for 8-10-year-olds with theatergames and improv, working to build a foundation for acting, gain confidence, and practice auditioning. Classes are held Tuesdays from 5-6 p,m., Sept. 10 through Oct, 29.
  • Dramatics 2is for 11-13 year olds to learn about characterization, dig into acting techniqueand practice auditioning. Classes are heldThursdays from 5-6 p.m., Sept.12 through Oct. 31.

For the very youngest actors, singers, and dancers, Theatre Bristoloffers PLAYTIME in the ARTspace, $5 per family on Saturday mornings at 10:00 am at 506 State Street, Theatre Bristol'sARTSpace stage, with free coffee and bagels provided by Bristol Bagel and Bakery and parenting resources by the Parenting Sweet. Founded in 1965 by Cathy DeCaterina, Theatre Bristol is a community theaterserving all ages that also has the distinction as the oldest continually running children’s theaterin Northeast Tennessee. Located on historic State Street in Bristol, it equally serves Southwest Virginia. Its Main Stage season consists of drama, comedy and musical productions that take place in the Theatre Bristol ARTspaceblack box theaterandon the Paramount Bristol stage.
