BRISTOL, Va. -- Jon Mehlferber, Virginia Intermont College associate professor of art, will have his doctoral dissertation, "The Dwelling as a Sculptural Motif: A Critical Analysis of Selected Contemporary Works," included in the Smithsonian American Art Museum/National Portrait Gallery Library.
Located in the Victor Building in Washington, D.C., the library includes books, exhibition catalogs, serials and dissertations concentrated in the area of American art, history and biography with supportive materials on European art.
Mehlferber has taught at VI since 1994 and is the college's fine arts division chair. He earned his doctorate in art theory and criticism from the University of Georgia in 1993.
