Voices of the Mountains invites the community to attend “Freedom Song: Honoring All Who Served,” a series of free concerts celebrating the courage, sacrifice and service of America’s veterans.
The performances features Voices of the Mountains, under the direction of Steve Sensenig, and Symphony of the Mountains Brass Quintet and Percussion. Joining them is King University Chorale, directed by Dr. Zachary Cooke, and the Summit Chamber Singers, directed by Dr. Hannah Wunsch Ryan.
Together, these ensembles present a musical tribute honoring the men and women who have served our nation.
The concerts take place Sunday, Nov. 8, at 3 p.m. at the Farmers Market in Kingsport, Tennessee, and Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. at State Street United Methodist Church in Bristol, Virginia. Both performances are free and open to the public.
Through stirring melodies and expressive performances, “Freedom Song” brings together the power of choral music and the rich sound of brass to honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The program offers an opportunity for the community to come together in gratitude, reflection and remembrance.
Voices of the Mountains and the SOTM Brass Quintet lead audiences in a musical celebration recognizing the dedication of veterans and the sacrifices made by military families. The performances are intended to provide a meaningful opportunity to express appreciation for those whose service has helped protect the freedoms Americans enjoy today.
The Nov. 11 concert coincides with Veterans Day, the national observance honoring all who have served in the U.S. military. By presenting “Freedom Song” in both Kingsport and Bristol, Symphony of the Mountains extends this tribute across the region, inviting residents to participate in honoring veterans and their families.
Veterans, active-duty service members, military families and community members of all ages are encouraged to attend. No admission is required.
