• JULY 23-27:Storytelling Live is held at the International Storytelling Center, Jonesborough, Tenn. Matinee performances are at 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. This week’s featured storyteller isBil Lepp. Lepp is a nationally touring storyteller, humorist, comedian and bearer of other synonyms that mean “funny.” Though he is a five-time champion of the West Virginia Liars Contest, his work often contains morsels of truth, presenting universal themes in clever ways. Lepp has created over 20 audio collections, is an award-winning children’s author, has hosted a History Channel TV show, and is a contributing columnist for West Virginia’s biggest newspaper. Lepp is the recipient of the PEN/Steven Kroll and the NSN ORACLE Circle of Excellence awards.
