Heather Forest tells tales

• MAY 7-11:Storytelling Live is held at the International Storytelling Center, Jonesborough, Tenn. Matinee performances are at 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. This week’s featured storyteller isHeather Forest. Forest is an award-winning storyteller, authorand musician. A pioneer in the American storytelling renaissance, she has appeared in theaters, schools, literature conferences, and major storytelling festivals throughout the United States and abroad since 1975. A modern-day bard, her dynamic fusion of original music, poetry, and the sung and spoken word brings multicultural folktales to life in the imagination of her listeners. Her books and recordings have won numerous awards including the American Library Association’s Notable Recording Award and several Parents’ Choice Gold Awards.
