Wise, VA–The Garth Newel Piano Quartet is known for theirspirited and impassioned performances that offer an enlivened interpretation of both standard and newrepertoire. Pro-Art and the University of Virginia’s College at Wise present the Garth Newel Piano Quartet Monday, May 11at 7 p.m. in Cantrell Hall at UVA Wise. The performance is free and open to all and broughtin conjunction with Pro-Art’s W. Campbell Edmonds Concert Series and the Clinch Valley Concert Series at UVA Wise. As artists-in-residence at Garth NewelMusic Center, one of the premier and most activechamber music organizations in the United States, the Garth Newel Piano Quartetprograms and performs over 50 concerts each year,engaging with audiences through conversational andinteractive programs on the national and international stage. They've performed at such prominent venues as Carnegie Hall, Strathmore Hall, and The ChautauquaInstitution. The quartet isTeresa Ling(violin),Fitz Gary(viola),Isaac Melamed(cello)andJeannette Fang(piano).
