Big Stone Gap, VA.The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park announces the spring semester of the WiseJAMS music program. WiseJAMS seeks to preserve the region'sheritage by offering low-cost classes in fiddle, old-time banjo and guitar to small groups of students in an after-school setting.
Classes begin Thursday, Feb. 27,and run through Thursday, May 8, for the 2025 spring session. Classes are held at the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park Thursdaysfrom3:45 to 5:45 p.m. and serve students in grades three though eight. Youth who participate in this program are required to attend all weekly classes. During the classes, students receive an after-school snack and a 90-minute instructional session.
