The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park announces its Children’s Summer Music Camp. The camp seeks to preserve important Appalachian mountain music heritage by offering classes in fiddle, old-time banjo and guitar.
The camp begins Monday, June 12and runs through Friday, June 16, from 9 a.m. until noon, and serves students ages 7 to 12. Youth who participate in this camp are offered classes in musical instruments and play musical games, learn musical trivia and have a fun-filled week of music fun.
A fee of $30 per child covers a t-shirt and a snack each day. The park provides the instruments. Seating is limited, so be sure to register by Friday, June 9.
