Arts Array Film Series announces February line-up

Virginia Highlands Community College continues the Arts Array Film Series. Show times, except for “Schindler’s List,” are Monday and Tuesday evenings at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Abingdon Cinemall. Admission is free for all students and staff members of Virginia Highlands Community College, Emory & Henry College, King University, East Tennessee State University and Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, including participants in the College of Older Adults who purchase an Arts Array pass. Community admission is $7.75.

February’s line-up includes:

“Schindler’s List -- 25th Anniversary” is shown Feb. 4 and 5 at 4:30 p.m. There is only one showing per night of this film due to its length. In German-occupied Poland during World War II, Oskar Schindler gradually becomes concerned for his Jewish workforce after witnessing their persecution by the Nazi Germans. Stars Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Kingsley. Directed by Steven Spielberg.

“Crazy Rich Asians” is on screen Feb. 11 & 12. This contemporary romantic comedy, based on a global bestseller, follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu to Singapore to meet her boyfriend’s family. Stars Constance Wu, Henry Golding and Michelle Yeoh. Directed by Jon M. Chu.

“BlacKkKlansman” is shown Feb. 18 and 19. Ron Stallworth, an African American police officer from Colorado Springs, Colorado, successfully manages to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan branch with the help of a Jewish surrogate who eventually becomes its leader.
