Arts Array films shown in Abingdon

Virginia Highlands Community College’s Arts Array Film Series show times are Monday and Tuesday evenings at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Abingdon Cinemall. Admission is free for all students and staff members of Virginia Highlands Community College, Emory & Henry College, King University, East Tennessee State University and Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, including participants in the College of Older Adults who purchase an Arts Array pass. Community admission is $7.75.

“Supernova” is on screen April 4 and 5. Supernova chronicles the search and rescue patrol of a medical ship in deep space in the early 22nd century and its six-member crew which includes a captain and pilot, a co-pilot, a medical officer, a medical technician, a search and rescue. Stars James Spader, Robin Runney and Angela Bassett.

“When Harry Met Sally” is shown April 11 and 12. Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) meet when she gives him a ride to New York after they both graduate from the University of Chicago. The film jumps through their lives as they both search for love, but fail, bumping into each other time and time again. Finally, a close friendship blooms between them, and they both like having a friend of the opposite sex. But then they are confronted with the problem: “Can a man and a woman be friends, without sex getting in the way?”

“Unforgiven” is on screen April 18 and 19. Retired Old West gunslinger William Munny (Clint Eastwood) reluctantly takes on one last job, with the help of his old partner Ned Logan (Morgan Freeman) and a young man, The “Schofield” Kid (Jaimz Woolvett)

“It Happened One Night” is shown April 25 and 26. A renegade reporter (Clark Gable) trailing a young runaway heiress (Claudette Colbert) for a big story joins her on a bus heading from Florida to New York and they end up stuck with each other when the bus leaves them behind at one of the stops.
