RICHMOND, Va. -- Freedom, the independent film shot and produced in Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee last year, has been named one of three finalists in the 2008 Virginia Film Competition.
The competition was created by the Virginia Film Office in Richmond to highlight the talents of Virginia's homegrown film making community. The competition displays the work of Virginia film makers in three categories: Features, Shorts and Documentaries.
Freedom is a finalist in the Features category.
Finalists in all three categories will be screened for the public on Saturday, April 26 at the Byrd Theater in Richmond with winners for each category announced that day. Freedom will screen between 3 and 6:15 p.m.
