Bestselling Author Sharyn McCrumb to Speak at Johnson City Public Library

JOHNSON CITY – Johnson City Public Library is hosting bestselling author Sharyn McCrumbThursday, May 15 at 6 p.m. in the library’s Jones Meeting Center.

McCrumb’s talk focuses on her “Ballad” novels, which revolve around Appalachian history and folklore. Her books will be for sale, and she will sign copies afterward. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Johnson City Public Library.

Sharyn McCrumb is a New York Times bestselling and award-winning Appalachian author who lives in Virginia’s Blue Ridge. Throughout her 40-year career, she has published over 30 novels and short stories and has received national acclaim and awards for her work.

McCrumb is perhaps best known for her “Ballad” novels, fictional reimaginings of true historical stories set in East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Throughout the series, she weaves narratives steeped in tradition and infused with the authentic spirit and character of the Appalachian region.
