• OCT. 2: “Edith Tells All,” a one-woman show by Pamela Gilmer is on stage at the Park Avenue Theater, Norton, Va., at 7:30 p.m. A school teacher from Pound, Va., drew national media attention when she was tried for killing her father with a high-heeled shoe. Gilmer’s one-woman show traces the story of Edith Maxwell from simple mountain girl, to convicted felon, to free woman after Eleanor Roosevelt advocated for her release and the Washington Post raised money for her defense.
