October 16, 2025   |   7 pm @ Birthplace of Country Music Museum

New Orleans soul/R&B powerhouse ensemble J & The Causeways headline the taping ofRadio Bristol's Farm and Fun Timeat theBirthplace of Country Music Museum at 7 p.m.,Oct. 16. Americana singer-songwriter — and proud Galax, Virginia, native — Dori Freeman also guest stars.

Jordan Anderson, lead singer and keyboardist of New Orleans powerhouse ensemble J & The Causeways, has remained a magnetic presence in the city's vast, storied live music scene for the better part of the last decade. The band's sound blends the grit and grace of old-school R&B with smoky soul, driven by Anderson's powerful vocals, richly arranged horns, sweeping guitar linesand atightness from the rhythm section that only years of playing live could hone. From their origin in the Maple Leaf Bar, the group has carved out a festival-style sweep, seamlessly moving between intimate club sets and large stages, always bringing in the emotional honesty of vulnerability and the joy of connection.

Freeman has sharpened her vision of Appalachian Americana over five studio albums. From the country traditionalism of her self-titled debut to the amplified folk of "Ten Thousand Roses," it's a sound that nods to her mountain-town roots even as it reaches beyond them. Freeman continues creating her own musical geography with "Do You Recall," the songwriter's most eclectic — and electric — record yet. The artist still sings with the unforced vibrato of a classic folk singer, but she's more of a modern trailblazer than a throwback traditionalist, funneling her Blue Ridge roots into a contemporary sound that's both broad and bold.

With host Kris Truelsen and his Farm and Fun Time House Band,Radio Bristol's Farm and Fun Timebrings a fresh spin to classic American roots music, blending high-energy performances with captivating storytelling. Each month, the show honors tradition while spotlighting emerging talent, offering audiences an unforgettable mix of heritage and discovery.

Tickets to the show are $49.47 (including applicable tax/fees) and may be purchased through the Events page atBirthplaceOfCountryMusic.org.
