June 5, 2026   |   6:30 pm @ Fischman Gallery

Fischman Gallery presents its fifth Annual Juneteenth exhibit opening June 5 with a reception from 6:30-9 p.m. This annual exhibit, in conjunction with UMOJA Arts and Cultural, celebrates local and regional Black artists. Over the past four years, the exhibit has invited artists to explore various aspects of the community, including Black pride, wealth and prosperity, storytellingand this year, generations.

“Generations” can mean a family line, a cultural momentor a turning point. It can mean wealth passed down — or trauma passed down. It can mean the history we carry — or the future we’re creating. Whatever we inherit, we also influence. This generation has the chance to transform cycles into legacies. "Generations" includes paintings, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, photographyand ceramics. Artists have also been asked to include a statement about their art in general and specifics about their particular show entry.

The opening reception for "Generations" is Friday, June 5, 6:30-9 p.m. and runs through June 28. The exhibit is free and open to the public, and the entrance is accessible. Hours are Monday through Wednesday 1-4 p.m., Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information call 423.430.4881, email fischmangallery@gmail.com, or visit fischmangallery.org, Facebook, and Instagram.
