Knoxville Children's Theatre presents 'The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe'

Knoxville Children’s Theatre, in partnership with the Clayton Foundation, presents a live production of “The Lion, The Witch, & the Wardrobe.” The play is performed May 5through May21,Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m.

This dramatization of C.S. Lewis’ classic work faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children whoinadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. The intense action features chases, duels and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.

The play is performed by 22 young actors and designed by 12 young designers from ages 9 to 18. The cast includes KCT veteran Delaney Rickman portraying Aslan with Eason Bulllard, Vivi Bullard, Graham Sexton, and Avery Schroeder playing Peter, Lucy, Edmund, and Susan respectively. Joining them are veterans Truman Ball as Father Christmas, Eden Carnes as the White Witch, Carter Case as Mr. Beaver. Fenris Ulf isportrayed by Reese Creekmore, and Lena Kennedy portrays Centaur.

Tumnus is played by Charlie Jackson, and Unicorn is portrayed by Janie Long. KCT veterans joining the cast are Hogan Honeycutt, Maggie McNally, Lyric Wester?eld-Dyer, and Oliver Wolfe.Making their KCT debuts in this production are Tessa Arwe, Zee Carnes, Mason Cox, Lucas Howell, Adeline Lintonand Andie Schroeder.

The show is directed by student director Ava Bradshaw who is making her directorial debut with this production. Ava and Emma Reagan provide the scenic design with assistance from Amelia Bumpas, Cooper Delamainand Pierce McNew. The costume design is provided by Conard Belitz with assistance from Indra Mynatt. Dressers for this production are Maggie Wilson and Olivia Newman. Averi Waller provides the lighting design and the properties are designed by Maggie Clower. The play’s stage manager is Elliott Norton with Assistant Stage Manager Annabel Dattilo.
