October 14 – November 18, 2025 @ William King Museum of Art
• OCT. 14 – NOV. 18:Surrealist Printmaking: Drypoint and Laser Engraved Plates workshopis held at William King Museum of Art, Abingdon, Va., from 5:30-8 p.m.Charles Goolsbyleads the workshop. This special topics class is in conjunction with the Salvadore Dali printmaking exhibition and focuses on surrealist imagery, drawing and printing techniques. The special class rate for this class is made possible by support from the Town of Abingdon arts grant. Printmaking is a process that involves creating an image on a repeatable surface, often a “plate” (in this case, a small sheet of plexiglass with a drawing scratched into its surface). In this class, participants are guided through the creation process to make their own plate as well as be challenged to combine their own imagery with a variety of images from plates provided by Art Lab. Participants learn how to ink and print their creations as well as tear paper and sign their prints. All supplies are included in this workshop. Experience with printmaking is helpful but not necessary. Drawing experience is encouraged. This workshop is in a classroom that is accessed solely by a flight of stairs due to construction. $25. 276-628-5005, www.williamkingmuseum.org
