Big Stone Gap, VA. -The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park announces the fall semester of the WiseJAMS music program. WiseJAMS seeks to preserve our musical heritage by offering low-cost classes in fiddle, old-time banjo and guitar to small groups of students in an after-school setting.
For the fall session, classes begin Sept. 3and run through Nov. 19, with graduation being held on Dec. 1. Classes are held at the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park on Thursdaysfrom3:45 to 5:45 p.m. and will serve students in third through eighth grades. Youth who participate in this program are required to attend all weekly classes. During the classes, students receive an after-school snack and a 90-minute instructional session.
