'The Wonder of the Bookcases'

• OPENING APRIL 16:An exhibit of artwork byCharles Vessis on display at The Arts Depot, Abingdon, Va. Vess is an award-winning, internationally acclaimed artist. “Welcome to Neverland” gathers illustrations from two recently illustrated, limited edition, releases of the novels“Peter Pan” and“Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell.” Vess has a long history associated with J. M. Barrie’s Pan novels, and the latter title is one he has read and re-read many times since its initial publication 20 years ago. He said it was an absolute delight to illustrate each. The books were issued in fine art editions and seen by only a few in this region, so Vess really looks forward to displaying this select art to friends, family and the general public at The Arts Depot.
