Knoxville Opera presents "The Pirates of Penzance," a beloved operetta filled with adventure, humorand unforgettable melodies at the historic Tennessee TheatreFriday, Oct. 25at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct,27at 2:30 p.m. for the opening mainstage production of its2024-2025 season.
Under the stage direction of Knoxville Opera's Producing Director, Dean Anthony, and the baton of guest conductor Joseph Mechavich, this production promises to be a delightful and entertaining experience for families and audiences of all ages.
Joined by the Knoxville Opera Chorus, led by Christy Lee, and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, this production showcases a star-studded cast, including UT Alum Craig Irvin as The Pirate King, Derrek Stark as Frederic, Hanna Brammer as Mabel, Troy Cook as Major-General Stanley, Joyce Campana as Ruth, and Allen Michael Jones as the Sergeant of Police. Featured local singers include Daniel Spiotta as Samuel, and Knoxville Opera Studio members Ashley Victoria Jones, Meghana Krish, and Nicole Dayton as Edith, Kate, and Isabel.
