Appalachian Peace Education Center hosts a celebration of Martin Luther King Saturday, Jan. 18 with a celebration march starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Charles Wesley UMC in Abingdon and ending at Abingdon UMC in Abingdon.
Abingdon UMC hosts a program celebrating the women of the civil rights movement starting at 2p.m. There will be live jazz at the beginning of the program as folks arrive and get seated.
