Virginia Highlands Festival 2022 Announces Music Lineup

July 22–30, 2022 @ Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center

The Virginia Highlands Festival has announced the music lineup and ticket information for the upcoming 10-day festival which isheld July 22 – 31in Abingdon, Virginia. The live music events take place at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in the outdoor tent in Abingdon, Virginia.

• Friday, July 22– Departure performs ATribute to Journeywith special guests, From The Edgefrom 7-10 p.m.Departure is in its14thyear together and replicates the look, soundand feel of the '80s rock supergroup, Journey. From The Edge, formed in 2016, out of Southwest Virginia, appeals with party rock and roll with a taste of twisted country.

• Saturday, July 23– Rumours performs A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac from 7-9 p.m.Formed in the Summer of 2012, in Los Angeles, California, Rumoursmade its debut at the infamous Roxy Theater on Sunset Strip and within months would be seen worldwide on AXS TV’s World’s Greatest Tribute Bands.

• Thursday, July 28– Thomas Taylor with special guest Lily Comer performs a Tribute to Conway Twitty from 7- 10 p.m.Taylor has been described as having the ability to find the heart of all the lyrics to Twitty'ssongs and puts his all back into them like Conway always did. Comer, a singer, songwriter, and musician from West Virginia is the Grand Champion of the 2020 Pigeon Forge Path to Fame Virtual Talent Competition.

• Friday, July 29 – The Band of Oz performs a Tribute to Carolina Beach Music fro 7- 9 p.m.Formed in 1967, Band of Oz, one of the most successful groups in the Southeast, continues to get top reviews for their performances.

• Saturday, July 30– Daniel Davis and Symple Rhythm, Frank Perry and the Shooter Band, and Marques Puckett and the 8 Second Ride perform a Tribute to Local Music from 6-10:30 p.m.
