BIG STONE GAP, VA. - The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park congratulates the winners of the 20th Annual "A Stitch in Time" Quilt Show. The park displayed more than 100 quilts this year on three floors of the museum from April 1 to May 31, celebrating a longstanding mountain tradition of artistic creation with a functional purpose.
The winners, as selected by ballots submitted by park visitors, are:
First Place: Jacky Fannon from Big Stone Gap, Virginia, with "Strawberry"
Second Place (tie): Charlotte Brooks from Jonesville, Virginia, with "Barns - Night & Day"
Second Place (tie): Linda Jordan from Wise, Virginia, with "Quilted Village"
Third Place: Paxton & Chris Allgyer from Big Stone Gap,Virginia, with "Feathered Star"
The staff of the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park thanks everyone who submitted quilts for this year's show. Without the participation from regional artisans, "A Stitch in Time" would not be possible.
