Miles Marek earned a BFA in theater from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before heading to New York to pursue a career as an actor. He appeared in plays Off-Broadway, on daytime and prime time TV, in commercials and in film. He also managed parallel careers as a design/build contractor, real estate manager and fine woodworker.
In 2000, after settling in Fairfield, Connecticut, he co-founded the Fairfield Theatre Company, a non-profit performing arts group. Under his leadership the FTC grew into a multi-venue $3 million plus operation producing dozens of plays and hundreds of concert events annually. Between 2004 and 2011, he presented more than 1,200 live performances featuring great artists of our time.
The New York Times wrote "...in only a few years The Fairfield Theatre Company, under Producing Director Miles Marek, has turned two underused venues into powerhouse theaters offering more than 150 concerts a year and orchestrating collaborations that have turned this swath of suburbia into an unlikely arts incubator."
He returned to New York City in 2012 to pursue ventures in commercial theater. He helped produce two plays on Broadway, "Grace" by Craig Wright, and "Anne" written and performed by Holland Taylor. He also served as Artistic and Managing Director of The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater, Off-Broadway.
