Art in Public Places Celebration

October 1, 2006

BRISTOL - On Thursday, August 31, Arts Alliance Mountain Empire hosted a Dedication Reception for winners of Bristol's 2006 Art in Public Places competition. Sponsors, city and regional officials, and representatives of the area's arts community were special guests. A video of the art installations was shown at the reception, which began at 6 p.m. at the Paramount Center on State Street. A Sculpture Walk was held earlier in the day. The sculptures will be on display for a year as part of Bristol's Sesquicentennial celebration. Brochures featuring the sculptures and information about the artists, the juror, the project, the Arts Alliance, and Bristol itself are available at downtown Bristol locations. To sponsor a sculpture, e-mail AAME@AAME.info.
