Arts Commission Seeks Advice

December 1, 2009

RICHMOND, VA -- Every two years the Virginia Commission for the Arts updates its strategic plan and the guidelines for funding. As a result of state budget cuts for the past two years, the Commission has suspended or reduced most of its grant programs.

If you have suggestions of ways to improve any of the grant programs, services, or procedures of the Commission, now is the time to let them know. Some questions to get you started:

• Are there important issues
in the arts in Virginia that are not currently being addressed by the programs and services of the Commission?

• What are the greatest challenges
facing Virginia artists and arts organizations at the current time?

• What Commission grant programs
are the highest priorities for you?

• Do you have any problems or concerns with any of the procedures of the Commission, the application deadlines, or the format of the application forms?

Please call, fax, e-mail or mail your comments or concerns to: Peggy J. Baggett, Executive Director, Virginia Commission for the Arts, 223 Governor St., Richmond, Va. 23219, 804-225-3132, fax 804-225-4327, e-mail peggy.baggett@arts.virginia.gov.
